Carlos Tevez slams 'strange' transfer situation after Manchester City reject offers from Inter, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain
The 27-year-old forward claims the club prevented him from taking up offers "from Spain and Italy" but sees a move to Brazil or Argentina as a possibility in the future
Carlos Tevez has expressed his frustration at his transfer situation and has claimed that Manchester City rejected offers from Inter, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window.
Tevez has been searching for Eastlands exit
since September, following his alleged refusal to come on as a
substitute against Bayern Munich, while the player has been in exile in
his native Argentina since November.
The striker insisted that he
wanted to take up one of the offers made but that City blocked a
potential move, with Tevez describing how "something always wasn't
right" with the deals on the table.
"The situation is very strange for me," Tevez told Kicker.
"I
wanted to go and had offers from other leagues, from Spain and Italy.
But it did not work out in the end because City did not accept any of
the offers.
"There were offers from [AC] Milan, Inter and PSG. But something always wasn't right."
Tevez
went on to predict that he could move away from Europe and back to
South America in Brazil or Argentina, but added that he was beginning to
doubt whether City would allow him to leave the club on loan.
"If all regularities are right and the clubs agree a transfer with City, I can see myself going there, even on loan," he said.
"But after all that has happened with Milan or Inter, I don't know if City wants me to leave on loan."
The former Manchester United forward also felt that the bad image he had developed since being marginalised at City was unfair.
"I cannot understand that but I cannot do much against it," Tevez said. "People may think what they want."

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish blasts Manchester City over Andy Carroll for Carlos Tevez swap claimsThe Scot criticised the Eastlands outfit for discussing business which had not been completed, and insisted the 23-year-old will not be leaving AnfieldThe Liverpool boss criticised the Eastlands outfit for discussing a potential swap deal involving Carlos Tevez and Andy Carroll, and the Scot says the ex-Newcastle man will not be leavingLiverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has blasted Manchester City's claims that the Merseyside outfit attempted a swap deal between strikers Andy Carroll and Carlos Tevez. Dalglish is unhappy after the Eastlands outfit revealed the potential exchange and has reiterated the club’s intentions of having no players coming in or out of Anfield before the end of the transfer window. The Scot insists Liverpool will not validate the claims and slammed City’s decision to make the alleged deal public knowledge. He told reporters: “We’re not going to get involved in justifying what people are saying – we don’t have to. Get City to justify it, not us. “We’re not talking about any specific incident, but if you are going to do business in any way shape or form, no matter what life you are in, you don’t need to disclose it until it’s done. “As [Liverpool chairman] Tom Werner said the other day, there’s no point letting the facts get in the way of a good story - when he was talking about Stewart Downing being bought from a clip off YouTube. Do us a favour.” The 60-year-old also let it be known that the club would not be having a similarly hectic end to the January transfer window as they did last time round and insisted that Carroll is perfectly happy at the club and would not be leaving. “Nothing is happening at all and we don’t anticipate it to either. Last year was a bit manic but there’ll be nothing this time,” he said. “There’s no need for us to pass comment on anything that’s been speculative in any way shape or form. We’ve said what’s going to happen, and that’s nothing. It’s quiet. “We don’t have any problems with any of the players, because they are all going nowhere,” he said in relation to Carroll. “Andy has said he is very happy here and doesn’t regret coming. That’s the best reference you can get, but for some reason the focus always seems to be on the big fella. |

Carlos Tevez is set to stay at Manchester City until at least the end of the season his agent has revealed. The 27-year-old has been out of favour at the Etihad Stadium since demanding a transfer over the summer, and has been linked with moves to Milan, Inter and Paris St Germain. Tevez’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, admitted negotiations are unlikely to be completed before the window closes at the end of January as the Blues are insistent on receiving a certain price for the Argentinian. The advisor told TalkSport: “We’ve been in negotiations with three big clubs but I don’t think they have reached the figures Manchester City want. “Carlos will remain at Man City until the summer. They [City] would like to move him on but only at a certain price.” Joorabchian was adamant that Tevez is destined to leave Roberto Mancini’s side once the 2011-12 season is over, however. He added: “This summer will open up a lot of markets. All of the big clubs are looking for players who can play in the Champions League. “Carlos Tevez is cup-tied and that creates a big obstacle. You’re spending a lot of money on the transfer and the salary and he can’t play Champions League. “You have three and half months and then you can re-structure your team, and buy Carlos, in the summer.” More to follow... |
