Zinedine Zidane: To attack Jose Mourinho & the players is the same as attacking Real Madrid

Since the Portuguese coach arrived in the Spanish capital, Real Madrid have beaten their arch-rivals in only one of their meetings, but Zidane feels criticism of the 48-year-old is unfounded.

"Attacking Jose Mourinho and the players is the same as attacking Real Madrid," Zidane told AS.

"I can't understand those who can demand that Mourinho leaves when he's in the middle of building something great, of imprinting a winning character on our team," explained the 39-year-old.

The former France international also defended Mourinho's tactics, despite widespread talk of his side's negative approach to the tie.

"I also don't understand those who criticise the system Mourinho used in the cup match on Wednesday.

"I challenge any coach to tell me if they know an appropriate tactical system to beat Barcelona."

Real Madrid will look to salvage their attempt to hold their Copa del Rey title on January 25 at Camp Nou.

Barcelona's Gerard Pique: Nobody can stop us if we play our own game

The towering defender has voiced his opinion that the Catalans are nearly unbeatable as long as they as they can maintain their focus and be themselves on the pitch.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has stated his belief that no team can beat the Champions League holders as long as they play their own game.

The Catalans recorded a 2-1 away win over arch-rivals Real Madrid on Wednesday evening in the first leg of Copa del Rey's quarter-finals, and the former Manchester United man is of the opinion that this has given Barca a big confidence boost.

"When we are ourselves, there's no team that can stop us. If we play like we are playing now, we can win titles, and be the best team in the world once again," Pique was quoted as saying on the official Barcelona website.

"We have implanted our style for several years and we always apply it. It doesn't matter where or who we play.

"I'm proud and happy to belong to this team. Very few teams can go to the Santiago Bernabeu and win like we have done. That makes us different."

Paris Saint-Germain's Carlo Ancelotti: We hope to find a solution for Manchester City's Carlos Tevez.

The Italian believes that the Argentine striker would be a quality addition to his side and expects the 27-year-old to accept a move to the French capital.

The controversial Argentine is reportedly PSG's top transfer target after they were forced to admit defeat in their chase of AC Milan's Alexandre Pato.

Inter and Milan are also in the race for Tevez, but the Serie A duo are believed to be unwilling to meet City's valuation of the striker.

"We hope to find a valid solution," Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia. "Everyone knows that we are looking for an attacker.

"Tevez would be a great opportunity: right now, he is not playing at City and he wants to play.

"Up to this date, nothing is defined. We must talk to the player and City. I have not spoken with him or his agent. [PSG sporting director] Leonardo is taking care of everything."

Tevez is currently AWOL in Argentina after being frozen out of City's squad for refusing to warm-up in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich in September.

Ancelotti believes that Tevez's lack of first-team action will not be a problem and is confident that the Argentine star will agree to a move to the Parc des Princes.

"I think that if we talk to Tevez, he will say he wants to come," Ancelotti continued. "He must make a change, he is not playing at City.

"He is a great player, I think that in two weeks he could regain his fitness."

Chelsea captain John Terry is glad to have some unhappy players in the squad as the Blues look to fight their way back into the Barclays Premier League title race.
Much has been made of Andre Villas-Boas' rotation policy this season, which has seen the likes of Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres in and out of the side.
However, Terry admitted he would have a problem if any player was happy sitting on the bench, and told talkSPORT: "For me, whether you are young or old, you want to play every single week, regardless of the competition. That desire is what I want to see."
He added: "If there are some players in our squad who are unhappy that they are not playing, I would rather that than players prepared to tick along, collect their wages and not care if they are in the side or not.
"For me, it is a good thing to have, a passion and belief they should be playing.
"People have been making a big thing of certain players not playing, but we have seen that the likes of Frank is still one of our best players and also in the world, not only with his goalscoring but with the balls he puts through.
"Even though players are getting older, they still have a big role to play in this football club."
Chelsea head to Norwich for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off looking to put some pressure on the sides above them, who all play on Sunday.
"It is a really big weekend for all the top sides," the England captain added. "Spurs go to Manchester City, while Manchester United go to Arsenal, so maybe it is a chance for us to close the gap on the teams above us.
"However, Norwich gave us a good game at the Bridge, so on their pitch with their fans, it will be really tough. We have to make sure we are up for it."
